Weekly Round-up* 13 April
Welcome to the latest edition of the AWAVA Weekly Round-Up. This week, Australia’s violence against women epidemic is in the spotlight again after the murder of high school teacher Stephanie Scott over the Easter Weekend. Ms. Scott’s death has highlighted the need for further action to address gender inequality and violence supporting attitudes throughout the community.
Many of the links we have shared today highlight women’s ongoing experiences of violence, as well as the important steps that are being taken across the country to address violence against women.
We’re Hiring! AWAVA is seeking a suitably qualified Administration and Communications Assistant for a part time position in our Canberra Secretariat. Applications close on April 20!
