“The vast majority of intimate partner violence in heterosexual relationships is conducted by men against female partners. Social workers, psychologists, counsellors and other frontline practitioners can perform a vital early intervention role in recognising and responding to women experiencing violence, and in some situations, to men who perpetrate it.
This webinar will help participants to:
- know what to ask women that can help to screen for family and domestic violence
- identify relevant risk assessment and risk management frameworks to support their response to women experiencing violence
- understand some of the key principles and dynamics underpinning men’s use of family and domestic violence
- learn about appropriate referral options
- Identify who is the primary aggressor in situations where men present as victims”
