The Australian Women Against Violence Alliance (AWAVA) is seeking a suitably qualified Administration and Communications Assistant to provide administrative, organisational, and communication support.
On a day-to-day basis the Administration and Communications Assistant will undertake administrative, organisational and communication tasks as directed and supervised by the Program Manager. Regular activities include providing logistical and organisational support to the AWAVA Chairperson and staff (currently Program Manager) and volunteers, responding to emails and phone calls, updating AWAVA’s social media platforms, updating AWAVA’s Website, developing AWAVA’s weekly e-bulletin, developing communications materials, data entry, filing and recording, updating and maintaining contact registers, scheduling meetings and appointments, organising and taking accurate minutes of meetings, preparing draft minutes and circulating the final copies to attendees after clearance, managing membership enquiries and data bases, organising travel, accommodation and associated requirements for AWAVA delegates, event management for face-to-face meetings which require venue and equipment hire and catering, assist in submission preparation, including cost estimates and budgeting information, meeting deadlines and managing time well, communicating verbally and in writing to a variety of stakeholders. Not all duties in the position description are required each week.
The position is directly responsible to National Chair of WESNET through the AWAVA Program Manager
